Have You Played… Undertale?

Konami kickabout PES 2020 has a demo out now

Ahem – ah, fitbaw! The bootiful game. Nothing better than gathering the crew ’round for a great big kickabout in the park, right? Actually, tell you what, that sounds a bit rubbish right now. It’s all wet out, my spiked shoes are all busted up, and Mister Johnson’s not given the ball back since we kicked it into his cabbage patch.

How’s about some eFootball to pass the time, eh? I heard there’s a demo out for the new one, eFootball PES 2020.

1000-player battle royale Mavericks has been canned

1000 players is a lot of people. At least a small-ish town. Imagine trying to get all your neighbours to take time out of their day to hide in bushes shoot each other. If you’re one of the lucky multiplayer games that break big, it’s easy to forget just how big a thousand is. I’ve played games that would kill for even half of those in concurrent players. You don’t understand the things I’d do to get even 50 people playing Hawken again.

Mavericks: Proving Grounds dreamed of 1000 player brawls. To outdo Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds tenfold. But that dream dies this week alongside developers Automaton Games.

Destiny 2's new co-op event map is a great multilayered playground

Somewhere above the clouds over Europe, powered by spacemagic, a few ruined city blocks and a whole load of rocks are hovering as a new playground for Earth’s greediest heroes. This is the European Aerial Zone, host to a new cooperative mode in Destiny 2‘s Solstice Of Heroes event, which started last night and runs for a month. I adore the EAZ as a playground, leaping from rooftop to rooftop or barrelling through maze-like interiors while hunting bosses and treasure. It is a good place. So it’s baffling that the Solstice Of Heroes offers event rewards which strongly incentivise not playing the mode.

Teamfight Tactics guide – TFT patch 9.15 tips

Teamfight Tactics is now out, and my word it makes some rather hefty changes to the proceedings. Several traits and champions have seen a host of balance changes, to the point where the meta hasn’t been fully realised as of the time of writing. That said, Void, Knights, and Nobles are a lot more attractive for defensive play and Braum is now useful. If you’re just starting TFT, this is the place to learn how to play the game, thanks to our set of guides, as well as where to find cheat sheets and team comps.

Meet Zane, a semi-retired hitman hero of Borderlands 3

I’ve already played a bit of Borderlands 3, back at E3 in June. It’s a lot like Borderlands 2, only with bumslides and multiple planets. If the borders Borderlands has borne so far are yet to bore, then you will probably like this. You will probably also like Zane, a lovable Irish rogue with holographic decoys and deployable shields. Look, he’s so lovable he’s got his very own trailer.

Reviews Roulette: The one with Donkey Kong's wooden nipples

Body-ballooning shooter Morphie's Law is now out on PC

Mind when games had big head mode? Morphie’s Law: Remorphed is a bit like that, but with your character’s whole body. The RPS treehouse have had our eyes on this body-morphing multiplayer game for a while: it’s a third-person shooter where blasting someone’s body-part causes it to shrink and yours to grow. For example – shot someone in the foot? Congratulations, you’ll be needing bigger boots and they’ll be downsizing to baby shoes.

It’s a bit less body horror than that sounds, wrapped up in a robot Day Of The Dead look that probably isn’t quite in the spirit of the holiday. Oh, and it’s out now, with a demo you can pop on for free.

Quitting Qatab: Turn 5

QQ’s first and, quite possibly, last sniper duel finishes with Stone’s (no relation) sharpshooters practising their synchronised cowering on the ground floor of the Hotel Lux. Before you judge the lily-livered jarheads too harshly, let me tell you about how the dastardly Qatabis broke one of the golden rules of the sport.

(Quitting Qatab is an open-to-all game of Combat Mission: Shock Force 2 in which NATO forces are orchestrated by commenters while Qatabi units are computer controlled. Each daily turn covers one minute of action. For a scenario outline and summaries of earlier turns, click here) (more…)
