Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture PC Confirmed, Coming Soon

Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture [official site], the latest from Dear Esther and Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs developers The Chinese Room, is finally heading to PC. I spoke to studio head Dan Pinchbeck earlier this week and he told me that the completed PC port has now been delivered to Sony, who will be acting as publishers. Sony’s role means they’ll be responsible for selecting a release date and marketing the game, as they did with Helldivers when it came to PC late last year.

But it’s coming. The rapture is coming.

BioShock: The Collection Is A Thing, But More Importantly, Sea-Life Facts!

BioShock: The Collection is the deeply uninspiring name for a bundle of all the previous BioShock games that for some reason 2K are still refusing to acknowledge. It’s now been rated by bodies around the world, including the ESRB, and yet 2K still remain schtum. Which is weird. Anyway, it’ll contain all three games, and in case you’ve forgotten, “Cutscenes also depict intense acts of violence,” and the c-word makes appearances. All games should be announced by the ESRB! It’ll potentially have had a little brush up and tidy, to look prettier on the young people’s modern consoles, but that’s not yet confirmed. Right, I’ve somehow included all the news about this above the jump, so join me for some fascinating sea-life facts below. BioShock is set in the sea, and that’s my excuse.

Train Valley DLC Visiting Germany With Bombings, Wall

Do you know of Miniatur Wunderland? It’s the world’s largest model railway, with around a thousand trains, thirteen thousand metres of track, and two hundred thousand people across more than a square kilometre with diddy versions of everything from its home town – Hamburg, Germany – to Las Vegas. There are cars, crowds, farms, festivals, boats, ships, planes, a space shuttle, fire engines which go out and fight fires, and a drowned body in a river being investigated by a forensics team. It sounds pretty amazing, in short, and I’d very much like to visit one day.

So no, I’m not at all surprised that the first DLC for fun rail management game Train Valley [official site] is focused on Germany. They flipping love trains.

Dota 2: Valve Announces The International Dates, Tickets

Hello. I’m going to talk about Valve’s ginormous annual Dota 2 [official site] tournament, The International, for a bit as tickets are going on sale from April 7th and dates for the competition have been announced and so on.

The International 2016/TI/TI6/The Now-Yearly Discussion Of Massive Crowdfunding Via Digital Wizard Hats – whatever you prefer to call it – will be returning to Seattle’s KeyArena from 8-13 August.

Last year’s most thought-provoking and conscience-chafing wargaming decision involved Nazi party membership. This year’s involves opening fire on a Native American village presumably full of women and children as well as warriors. Desperate Glory: Last Stand at the Little Bighorn is the latest piece of historical hexiana from Jeff Lapkoff aka Digital Gameworks. Fond of modelling asymmetrical aggro and seldom-gamed scraps, Jeff’s new design encourages wargamers to examine the electrifying events of June 25-26, 1876 through various interpretative lenses and – happily for anyone unwilling to role-play the flaxen-haired architect of the Battle of Washita River – from both Seventh Cavalry and Sioux/Cheyenne perspectives.

Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked Paddles Out Of Early Access

Let’s write about something that happened at the end of yesterday instead. Yesterday is safe. Don’t Starve’s [official site] single-player expansion Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked came out of early access.

I feel like coming out of early access is a symbolic thing, mostly. Like, it’s the games equivalent of a debutante ball. You get a launch trailer and people say your name on websites and you’re a grown up game now. With that in mind, let us watch Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked glide down the fancy staircase in its launch trailer and do whatever else you do at debutante balls. Probably try and choose between dancing with Nate or Dan or Chuck Bass? ANYWAY:

Baldur’s Gate – Siege of Dragonspear Out Now

More than a decade after the Baldur’s Gate [official site] saga appeared to come to an end, there’s a brand new expansion available to buy right now. I know how this might look – it’s classic April Idiots’ fodder, telling you about a new chapter in a much-loved series and then revealing that all of your favourite characters have been transformed into unicorns or somesuch.

This is real though. You’ll need the Enhanced Edition of the game to play and we’ll have our own judgement on the expansion next week but, for now, here’s a trailer and some details.
