The Borderlands series is aesthetically and tonally consistent. Borderlands 2 has the same exact mood as its predecessor, and its sequel, and whatever you’d call Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel in that scheme of reference. It’s one of those series where even though there’s only four main installments (admittedly with near-infinite DLC), it becomes very difficult to remember which particular bits or characters appeared in which games, without spending time thinking about it.
Now that Spelunky 2 is out on PC, its daily challenge mode is available to play. If you don’t know: the daily challenge is a single chance to play a set of Spelunky levels that are the same for everyone playing that day. It was my favourite way to play Spelunky 1 and it’s unchanged in Spelunky 2. Part of the fun of the daily challenge is playing it yourself, and then watching other people try the same levels to see how they fared in comparison.
And so, hop below and you’ll find a video of me trying today’s daily challenge, while muttering over the top of it.
With each new season of Call of Duty Warzone the previously new guns are taken out of the Battle Pass, meaning there are new requirements for unlocking them. The AN-94 took season 5 by storm, proving itself to be one of the best assault rifles in the game, but with the arrival of a new season it’s a little harder to get hold of. If you didn’t unlock it as part of the Battle Pass, fret not! In this guide we’ll detail how to unlock the AN-94 in Warzone Season 6, and give you some tips on the best way to do so.
Now that the AN-94 is no longer in the Battle Pass you’ll need to complete a specific challenge to unlock it if you haven’t already. The challenge tasks you with getting 2 hipfire kills using an assault rifle, in seven different matches. As challenges go, this is pretty do-able, so we’ll go into some tips on completing it below.
Best way to get two hipfire kills using an assault rifle in seven different matches
If you’re looking to pick up the AN-94 (it’s one of the best guns in Warzone) you’ll nee to get 2 hipfire kills using an assault rifle, in seven different matches. As usual, it’s a lot easier to complete this challenge in multiplayer, given that you can respawn and get many chances at doing it per game. If you have a copy of Call of Duty Modern Warfare, and therefore additional multiplayer modes, head into either Shipment, Rust, or Broadcast. These are maps that favour close-quarter combat, so you’ll rack up kills in no time. I recommend either using the M4A1, or the Grau, as these are great at bagging hipfire kills. Consider adding a 12-gauge underbarrell attachment, as kills with this equipped will count as a hipfire assault rifle kill.
If you only have Warzone, your best bet is to head into one of the limited-time modes. Mini-royale, Kingslayer and Armored Royale will all give you more chances to get hipfire kills than a standard Battle Royale game, especially Kingslayer. You can also consider heading to a subway station to bag some easy kills on unsuspecting players.
That’s how to unlock the AN-94 in Warzone Season 6. For a look at the best loadouts for the game’s new marksman rifle, head here. You can also check out our guide on the best guns overall.

A new Assault Rifle seems to be pretty much par for the course at this point, with the AS VAL being the 13th, by my estimation. Still, the Warzone team are finding interesting things to do with the gun class, and the AS VAL is a solid addition to the pantheon. With its integral suppressor a default part of the gun’s kit, our in-depth AS VAL loadout guide will help you make the most of the rest of the weapon’s attachment slots.
Although Diablo 4 doesn’t have so much as a planned release window, Blizzard are continuing to lay out bits of development on the table for players to get a gander at while the studio iterate on the game. In the latest quarterly update, Blizzard are responding to player feedback on earlier updates with some proposed changes to skills, gear, and legendary items. They’re also showing off a bit of the Sorceress class’s special enchanting skill system.
If you’re invested in the competitive side of Valorant, you probably know how it feels to be dropped by an Operator time and time again. If a player was good enough with the sniper rifle, they could nab it early on and effectively dominate a match singlehandedly. When it came to countering them, it felt like there just weren’t enough options. Well, Valorant’s latest patch has nerfed it heavily to help alleviate this problem.
is finally here and brings with it a ton of new content. There’s new weapons to try out, new operators to unlock and a brand new underground subway system. This allows you to travel across Verdansk quickly, essentially operating as a sort of fast travel system. There are seven subway stations available, so we’ve marked their locations clearly for you to find. We’ll also go into some detail on how the subway works, and how to make the most of it.
In the image below you can see an overview of all the subway stations that have been added to Warzone. You can use your map to cross-reference these and find them in-game, and we’ll be providing a little more info on each station further on in this guide.
You can use this map to plan your travels across Verdansk, just be careful while you do so. Below, we’ve gone into some more detail on each station, showing their locations more clearly on the map.
1. Verdansk Airport
This subway station can be found at Verdansk airport. We’ve marked its exact location above. Something to watch out for here is airports tricky multi-storey area. It’s a hot-bed for snipers, so head into the station quickly and don’t hang about.
2. Lozoff Pass
Fun fact, I’ve died more times at Lozoff Pass than any other area in the game. The subway station could be a great way to escape this area, so take a look at its location on the map.
3. Verdansk Center
This one is pretty easy to find, situated right by the stadium. You can head for the green tents when leaving stadium. We’ve marked its position on the map for you.
4. Downtown Tavorsk District
This subway station can be found near the centre of Downtown. It can be a little tricky to find due to the number of tall buildings surrounding it. Head to the location marked on the map to enter the Downtown subway station.
5. Barakett Shopping District
This subway station is located near Promenade East. It’s right next to the creepy old Ferris wheel, so head there and you’re golden.
6. Verdansk Train Station
In my experience the train station can be a pretty hostile place to be when playing Warzone. It’s a really great place to get sniped, but its tantalisingly placed buy station is usually worth the gamble. If you need to evac in a hurry, head to the subway station shown in the map above.
7. Torsk Bloc
Finally we have the Torsk Bloc subway station. It’s located to the south east of Superstore and can be found by heading to the location shown on the map in the image above.
How does the subway work?
The subway system in Verdansk operates as a fast travel mechanic of sorts. If you head to one of the seven stations you’ll be able to take one of two trains, heading in opposite directions to each other. One will head to the next stations in a clockwise direction, while the other will move counter-clockwise. You can use this along with the map in this guide to plan your route, allowing you to travel across the map quickly and safely. Once in a subway train the doors will close as long as there is no combat going on nearby, the screen will fade to black and the train will take you to your next station. It only takes a few seconds per journey, making it the fastest way to get around in Warzone.
Can you be killed while on the subway train?
One thing to keep in mind is that as long as you are on the subway train, and the doors have closed, you cannot be killed. The second you step out onto the platform however, it’s open season. Because of this, you’ll want to take extra care when taking the subway, as it’s a hotspot for potential ambushes. Inversely, keep an eye out for unsuspecting players leaving the subway to bag yourself some easy kills. Another thing to keep in mind is that the doors will not close if there is combat happening anywhere near the subway train. If you or another player are shooting on the platform, the train won’t move.
Will the subway travel into the gas?
The subway is not supposed to travel to any station in the gas, or to stations about to be enveloped by it. I’ve found that this is not the case, at least with the game in its current state. I’ve travelled into the gas a few times now, which has pretty much ended my run every time. As a result, I’d recommend you plan your route carefully, using the map in this guide and when knowing which way you’re travelling.
Can’t fire weapons after leaving the subway?
Unfortunately, the addition of the subway to Verdansk has spawned a rather annoying bug in which your weapons won’t fire once you’ve travelled on the subway. You see, once the doors close and the subway gets moving, your character enters an animation where their guns are aimed down at the ground, which prevents you from aiming down sights and firing. This is likely to stop players fighting on the subway but at the moment it’s possible to be locked into this passive state, even after you’ve left the subway. I had this glitch in the first couple of days of launch, and found that the only way to fix it was unfortunately to die and head to the Gulag/be bought back. Hopefully this is just a teething issue associated with the new subway system, and that it will be patched out soon.
Tips for using the subway in Warzone
Of all the new bells and whistles added to Warzone since launch, the subway is definitely the trickiest to use tactically. At present, the stations are simply too risky to chance, and it’s difficult to think of many reasons why you’d need to travel across the map so quickly, unless you had a very specific objective in mind. Regardless, there are some tips that you should keep in mind if you are going to use the subway. We’ve listed them below:
The subway is a great place to complete most wanted objectives. You can use it to escape hunters, or simply ride around to confuse people that are looking for you.
Be sure to check subway stations for loot. There are a couple of areas here that contain boxes, and I’ve certainly found some pretty great stuff hiding away down there.
Beware of the electrified rails. They won’t kill you outright, but will take a significant chunk of health. Also keep an eye on the subway cars themselves, as they’ll one-hit kill you.
There’s always a ladder located in every subway station. This can either be used as a sneaky way in, or a quick way out. Keep this ladder in mind when defending a station, as it’s a great avenue for ambush.
If you’re near a subway station consider picking up a supply run contract. You can quickly complete these using the subway, giving you some easy cash in the process.
Lenovo have started selling a device they proudly describe as “the world’s first foldable PC”, the ThinkPad X1 Fold. It’s a Windows 10 laptop with a bendy 13.3″ touchscreen that lets you fold the whole thing in half, and it starts at £2430. While I do know several people who are thrilled to tears by foldable tech, no, I demand scrunchable tech. We should see this as merely a small step on the way towards the technology we actually need: a PC I can safely screw up into a ball and throw at the wall.
The SP-R 208 is the newest piece of gear added to the Marksman Rifle category in Call of Duty: Warzone, and it’s an absolute treat. For this reason, it can be tough to kit it out optimally, so here’s our in-depth SP-R 208 loadout guide to help you get the best possible kit on this exciting new marksman rifle.
